HOW YOU CAN HELP Become a Hero Today…Volunteer! • Auction Items – We are in need of unique and exciting silent auction items for our signature event, Harvest of Hope. Just one or two special items would be so helpful! • Volunteer at our Harvest of Hope event on October 25th – variety of jobs available! • Candlelighters’ Bulletin Board at Emanuel Hospital – Once a month, update & decorate our bulletin board at the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinic at Emanuel. Create and post flyers of upcoming events, display resources, add decorations, photos, etc. This board helps families learn about the wonderful, free services Candlelighters has to offer! We’ll provide you supplies needed for this job. • Join our Volunteer Email Group List – sign up to receive announcements of various volunteer jobs. Sign up for what you like – ignore what doesn’t interest you! • Deliver Toys – Pick up items from Candlelighters’ storage unit, and deliver to either Doernbecher or Emanuel Children’s Hospitals. This job would be approx. twice a month, and can work around your schedule. • Outreach Dinner Program at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital – Join our team of volunteers once to twice monthly, hosting dinner to pediatric oncology families at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. Requirements: Warm & friendly; available the 1st and/or 3rd Wednesday of each month from 5:30 p.m.–7:30 p.m.; preferably one year commitment; own transportation to and from hospital.
